AGCS OBJECTIVES

Sport and recreation teaches discipline and it is an integral component of a healthy lifestyle and enables South Africans to share common space. Statistics from the past years represent an older male demographic, but the sport is changing. The number of younger players and female players is on the rise. AGCS seeks to consolidated positive changes and gains for the benefit of all.

ONE

The AGCS shall promote, develop, and ensure that African Golf Society/Club/Organisations are fully recognised by the South African Government and shall participate actively in the mainstream of  and all levels of the South African economy.  Shall further endeavour to make South Africa to become one of the best and preferred investment destination in the World.

TWO

In achieving the above, the AGGS will, inter alia: formulate inclusive policies and advocate for the implementation of laws which promote and advance Golf in South Africa;

ACTIVE LOBBYING

Engage and lobby Government at local, provincial and national levels to facilitate meaningful and significant transformation of Golf as a sport;

LEGISLATION

Participate in the formulation and drafting of all progressive economic legislation of sport and other sport laws which have particular positive impact on economy of South Africa. formulate and advocate for the implementation of policies and strategies that will promote and develop African Golf Society/Club/Organisations;   

POLICY ADVOCACY

Formulate and advocate for the implementation of policies and strategies that will promote and develop African professional Golfers, African Women Professional Golfers & African Youth Professional Golfers

RALLYING COMMUNITIES

Engage and caucus with communities and other progressive sport organisations to ensure that the sport in South Africa is improved and sustainable;

PARTNERSHIP

Pursue and promote the unity of South African Sport Organisations and the unity of African Sport Organisations, as well as encourage the formation of partnerships and joint ventures amongst its members and with other Golf Societies / Clubs / Organisations and entities; 

SUSTAINABILITY

Pursue and advocate for the alleviation and eradication of poverty, foster job creation and actively push for the creation of a united South African sport development programme;

OUTREACH

Engage with various Golf organisations on the International origin and African continent and the rest of the world to build partnerships, support and other mutually beneficial relationships; 

REPRESENTATION

Be a cohesive and united voice of Golf Golf Societies / Clubs / Organisations and  advance co-operation and collaborate on with other progressive Golf  organisations; and undertake any actions that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives, individually or collectively.
