MISSION STATEMENT

To close the gap in golf that was created by legacies of the past  and provide each and every South African an opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of the game, which in turn will contribute to equitable and national development.

Salala Lesela was until recently Executive Director of Standard Bank, Vehicle and Asset Finance and the Chief Executive officer of Jala Capital. Jala Capital is an investment holding company started in 2005, with a vision to build value in the investee companies, by providing capital resources, support and highly skilled and talented management teams.

 

He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Business Banking and First National Bank (FNB).

 

Salala Lesela is a a renowned motivational public speaker and author. He is an expert in the field of franchising after being the Operations Director for Southern Africa for KFC and heading up Delloitte & Touche’s Franchise for 2 years.

Geoff Mabote is an astute business executive with a strong 30 year commercial experience gained from working from multinationals like McDonalds, listed companies like Woolworths and Sun International amongst other companies. He is an avid golfer who belongs to a couple of golf clubs like The Dons ( Commander in Chief) Mamelodi Golf Club (Secretary). My passion is in growing the sport and my vast network will assist me in achieving the objective. I look forward to collaborating more with like minded individuals and groups.

DR. KINESH PATHER

STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS CHIEF

 

BDS (Univ of Witwatersrand) 1988 | MBA

 

Kinesh had extensive experience in the trade union investment arena – he was previously the CEO of the Chemical and Petroleum Union Investment Company. In this role in 2001, he concluded the first significant BEE transaction in the PharmaCo sector through a substantial equity acquisition into Aspen Pharmacare (SA’s largest generic pharmaceutical manufacturer).

 

Kinesh played a key role in the transformation of the Petroleum sector in SA over the last 2 decades and has access, through direct relationships, with Major Oil Companies and Financiers in this sector.

 

Kinesh was instrumental in the deal structuring of Impala Platinum’s Marula Platinum Mine and lead the consortium to acquire 27% of Marula Platinum in 2005. Kinesh is a key promoter and director to Tubatse Platinum and the Marula Communities, two of the empowerment partners in the 27% stake of Marula.

 

Avacap is a strategic consulting and advisory investment business, of which Kinesh is Exec Chairman.  This company has completed various Empowerment transactions is 2015 with Vametco Alloys, a specialised vanadium mining and producer in South Africa, a Chrome processing plant called Makgomo Chrome, and other BEE deals.

 

He has since acquired through his new holding company TSIKO AFRICA GROUP (TAG), the second largest Security company in SA, the old Chubb rebranded National Security and Fire, and he is leading a turnaround to this business.  He employs over 2000 staff and has a national presence in SA.

Rationale

 

It is acknowledged that sport and physical education are an integral part of a child’s development. The NDP states that the best place to instil changes in lifestyles and behaviour is at school.

 

The NDP also advocates that schools should have access to adequate facilities and urges all schools to be supported to participate in organized sport at local, district, provincial and national levels.
